Felix Morelo & Jamie Emerson
2 person show
@ Grace Exhibition Space
As part of the Bushwick Open Studios, Felix Morelo and Jamie Emerson installed a variety of works at Grace Exhibition Space. Included in the installation were paintings, sculptures, and mixed media artworks from the past 2 years.
"I have been an admirer of Felix's work as I'm drawn to his outsider art appeal, exuberant use of colors and playful inventiveness that always manage to surprise and delight.
I'm especially thrilled by the serialized designs for cans, some of which have been realized on recycled cans filled with concrete or metal, that Jamie has been working on tirelessly for the past several months. His work is boldly conceived and rigorously executed, with a perfect blend of practiced control and poetic demonstration of the endless possibilities that are eclectic, elegant and elemental all at once."
